Can Bradley Skeete win the British Welterweight Title outright?
Bradley Skeete (26-1) takes on Dale Evans this Saturday at the Copper Box Arena, London, as he aims to win the British Welterweight crown out right.
Taking on Evans (13-3-2) will be Skeete’s, third defence of his British crown after successful defences against John Thain and Shayne Singelton.
Skeete, won the title back in March 2016 when he beat Sam Eggington on points in Birmingham, and has wanted to go on a win the title outright ever since capturing it, in Egginton’s backyard.
His opponent the orthodox Dale Evans, is getting his second shot at the British Title, after facing Sam Eggington in 2015 where he was beaten on points, since the defeat to Eggington he has go on to win 3 fights on the bounce and will be hoping to produce an upset Saturday night and take the British Title back to Wales with him.
If Skeete does come through the fight victorious, it opens plenty of doors for him in terms of getting a world title shot. With Skeete ranked number 5 by the WBO, the board could call for a world title eliminator, before he gets a shot at the world title, which could be against Australia’s Jeff Horn who is the current champion following last weekends points win over Manny Pacquiao.
